Our Core Values

Our Core Values

Values central to the life, mission and vision of Baptist Convention, association
and local churches of Nepal. Core values are the building blocks on which we build
our lives, our relationships and our actions. Every person has core values that
define who they are and without realizing it, control who they become.

Core values give us an aspirational goal and a voice that helps us define our vision.
They are not nice sentiments; rather they are statements of what we value most
and the reflection of how we serve Jesus Christ and his church.

THE GLORIOUS GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST

The Good News of the Bible the Gospel can be summarized in four words:

CREATION…we were created to have a relationship with God

FALL…but we destroyed that relationship when we rebelled against him by going our own way

REDEMPTION…Jesus Christ, god’s son, lived a sinless life on earth. He paid for our sins by dying on the cross as our substitute, and rose bodily from the dead.

RESTORATION…faith in Jesus Christ is the only way to restore our relationship with God.

1. CHRIST CENTERED
Enjoying a dynamic relationship with Jesus relying on the bible as foundational to
shaping our understanding of Christ, our faith and the world being led and
empowered by the spirit to live a life of worship believing god is able to do more
than we ask or imagine Christ-centered worship

BIBLICAL AUTHORITY : we study, teach, and apply the bible as our final authority.

GOSPEL CENTRALITY : we proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ and apply it to all areas of our lives.

TRINITARIAN WORSHIP : we worship the triune god and devote ourselves to
prayer.

BIBLICAL COMMUNITY : we grow in Christ in the context of healthy bible-based community.

MULTIPLICATION MINDSET : we multiply by developing leaders, launching small groups

FELLOWSHIP AND MINISTRY : we prioritize planting and growing local churches as in (acts 9:31 and Ephesians 3:14-19, verses) that believers may be grown,
nurtured and equipped for ministry.

WE PRIORITIZE JOYOUS WORSHIP : honoring the father, son and Holy Spirit as we extol the life and love of our lord Jesus Christ (romans 11:36-12:1- 2verses)

WE HOLD TO THE CREEDS : asserting Jesus as god’s virgin-born son–his sinless life, atoning death and literal resurrection providing salvation (Acts 4:12verses).

We embrace all who love Christ, pursuing our distinct sense of mission and
values, while affirming the whole church beyond our ranks (Philippians 2:1-10verses).

3. SPIRIT-FILLED DISCIPLESHIP

We prioritize the apostolic plan for discipleship as in (acts 8:14-17; 19:1-6verses,)
calling believers to decisively open to the Holy Spirit’s fullness and fruit. We
acknowledge the distinct and ongoing gift-giving ministry of the spirit and instruct
in how to minister in his power to Christ’s glory (1 Corinthians 12-14verses).

We pursue faith-filled prayer, intercession and spiritual warfare with Holy Spirit
enabled power and discernment as in (Ephesians 6:10-20 and 1 timothy 2:1-6.verses)

4.MISSION SHAPED EVANGELISM AND OUTREACH

Committed to the announcement and demonstration of the universal reign of god
through Christ motivated by love for god and others

seeing lives, communities and society transformed biasing our resources toward
mission, both locally and globally we prioritize the apostolic convictions in (2
Corinthians 5:14, 15;verses) being constrained by the love of Christ knowing
eternal souls are at risk, and commissioned by the grace of god since all who
believe may be saved.

We are constant to our founding call to worldwide evangelism, proclaiming to all
that Jesus Christ is the savior, and he is our great physician and soon-coming king
(acts 20:27verses).

We cultivate every-member ministry as in 1 Corinthians (12:12-27verses), Christ’s
will be that his church be the living evidence of his love and power to the world.
We honor the Holy Spirit’s call to and gifting of Church leaders under Christ’s
commission and lordship, irrespective of age, ethnicity (acts 2:17-18verses)

As the Baptist convention of Nepal the democratic federal republic of Nepal, we
have defined what our values are and included them in our new constitution of
nation. These core values will be central in the decision making process and the
practical outworking of relationships within the denomination moving forward. It
is our desire that every church incorporate them into their own vision and
mission.

Core values are the values we see as most important to our life, ministry and
association with others. They transcend style, theological differences and heritage.

Core values are what identifies and unites us as Baptist convention and an
association of Nepal. They drive what, why and how we do what we do. Core
values guide us as individuals, churches and as a movement and denomination.

Our values articulate who we are and who we desire to be where as keeping us
accountable to each other and to God. Our desire is that all churches look at their
vision through the lens of these core values and allows these values to guide us in
decisions making and moving forward.
